The drawings Rodin’s chicks #2 and Defaced is based on the Tanagras figurines. The Tanagras clothing reflects the fashion of the period, which is placed at 300BC. When the figures went on the market in France in the 19th century artists Rodin bought a large number and they had a significant impact on his work. Unlike oil painting and ceramics that can take a long time to create, small drawings like these can maintain the momentum of their creation.
